The nizams jewellery collection.

One of the richest jewellery collection of India which shows the art of 18th to 20th century owned by Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan. To preserve the cultural heritage the jewel was kept in the vaults of Hong Kong bank which was then shifted to Vaults of RBI Mumbai by Indian government in 1995 and after that to RBI New Delhi. Now this outstanding collection is put up in National Museum to display the superb and rare intricacies of the collection of belts, buckles, bracelets, bangles, finger ring, toe ring, armlet, pocket watch, cufflinks etc.

Baluchars – The woven narrative silks of Bengal.

Weaver Studio resource Center (WSRC) Kolkata in collaboration with National Museum Delhi will be mounting an exhibition on ‘Baluchars the silks of Bengal’ to show the historic weaves which holds unique aesthetic values. The exhibiton aims at educating people about the traditional culture of baluchar textile.
